Forgot the Back Cracking Episode!

This could possibly be my fault.... haha
(There are 2 posts for today, Don't miss "Saturday, I Love You" below.. haha)

Dear Saturday, I Love You

Ahhhh....
Saturday has come and gone! And it was a busy busy one.
Let's see I will start with today and go backwards, How about that! Today we woke up to a big snow!!! I was so excited. They said it was going to snow all week and I'm like boys, it's going to snow on Saturday you know. Boys, they say it's going to snow on Saturday. And at some point they tried to tell me it wasn't going to snow, but I knew better!!! :) haha
So it snowed all day.

So long story short, it snowed all day. :)
I love it.

But it was a great day to snow all day, because we had housework to do!! Oh man, but first breakfast had to be taken care of. Robbie woke up with a chef's hat on, and made incredible cheese, bacon, egg, tomato (cut by Jerad) and mayo sandwiches for breakfast. They were amazing. Delicious. And blueberry coffee of course to top it all off. After scarfing that down, the boys went to work and so did I! They began with drywall touchups in the master bed and bath and I went to work cleaning the kitchen and making homemade mashed potatoes (for dinner of course). And then the boys moved on from that to the living room where they moved the old cornice crown molding back against the wall. They also put up the molding for the large window in the living area.

Ok now I bought this Martha Stewart cookie book that has like a zillion cookies in it at least. (recipes that is) and I have been dying to bake some of them so I started this week. I made Amaretto Crisps, which weren't very good. But I had Robbie pick a recipe out, and I made that today while they were doing this. It was Truffle Brownies or something like that. But all from scratch, I mean I was melting chocolate, boiling cream, it was a heavy duty operation. And it looks amazing. We haven't cut it open yet, but I have very high hopes. And now I have to share that it has this thick chocolate icinng stuff on top. This is a picture of it done. :) yum!

Soooo after I was done cooking and baking and cleaning the kitchen again... I decided to do some housework. I taped out the foyer and painted the whole thing with its second coat. It came out good. The boys were still working in the Living Room on all the molding, which by the way looks awesome. After touchups and stain it is really going to be very nice.

Ok so we stopped crammed dinner and the boys are now grouting the tile rocks in the master shower. It's going to look great when its all done. I am winding down and we are going to curl up and watch a movie in the next hour.

Good day of work!

Ok so this past week was busy as well. It was my last week working, but of course they were super super busy which is fine. So I worked my butt off everyday. All the way until about 8 last night and finally uploaded everything wether it was finished or not. I got a nice compliment from the owner. He said that I could come back at anytime. I thought that was awesome!

Lets see on Wednserday approx. I broke out into a huge allergic reactions. I had red tiny bumps covering basically my entire body. And let me tell you they were sexy! haha... not.... I still have them, but they don't itch like they did earlier this week and they are slowly going away. I think I have narrowed it down to the detergent Gain. Soooo, after I just finished doing all the laundry in it and washing my sheets and comforter!! haha back to the laundry room for me. I am still doing laundry to get rid of the Gain... oh well.

Last night we all went out to this little pizza place and had amazing pizza and calamari, and good company. It was a lot of fun to get out of the house and spend time together.

I can't remember anything else eventful. We all worked a lot. Same old same old.. :)
Robbie has a 4 day weekend so we all will be working on the house a lot this weekend! as well as looking for a part time job myself! :)

Ok well we love you all and miss you terribly!!
Have a great Sunday!!

My last monday is over.

Yay! today was the last monday I will work at my current job. I have had a headache everyday I have worked so far. That is not good. I look forward to less headaches! :)

We had a huge busy weekend. My mom flew in for one event. And there was major housework accomplished as well!

Soooo, mom flew in Friday. Robbie and I picked her up and her flight went well. Only a little bumpy in NC. We got her suitcase and off we went. We went to a restaurant that I can't remember the name too and have some interesting, but mostly good food. And good conversation as well.

Let's see so we got home Friday evening and pretty much got settled in for the night. Mom got the tour and all and we hit the sack. On Sat. the boys were pumped up to do some housework. And promptly got to work in the master shower finishing up some tiling. They also were working in the downstairs half bath finishing up some drywalling.

So off mom and I went to do some froggin around. (after a trip out and back to Home Depot for some tile) (second trip of the day so far). And we were off to conquer the subway/metro. Also the interstate, because I had never myself ventured this far on my own. Haven't had the chance yet. :) So I was excited myself to get out a figure the area out some. We made our way to the subway station which is about 5-10 minutes from the house, and mom and I had metro cards from Robbie. (basically tickets with money on them that you swipe to get in and out of the subway area). So mom followed and we found ourselves on the right train headed towards the Smithsonian area. We rode the train with no problems and even switched trains to catch another direction. It was a lot of fun and mom was a trooper. She was enjoying every minute of it, just as much as I was. We ended up finally in the mall area, which is this big open field in between the Capitol Building and the Washington Monument. On a Saturday it was very busy. People come to play games, and run, and all do all sorts of stuff. So mom and I frogged around to a few of the Smithsonian Museums, got attacked by a few bums selling maps (which we bought) and had some coffee. It was a great day! I know moms favorite was the Air and Space Museum which had all the airplanes in it. And hopefully they will get to return to spend more time there. Night was falling and the brisk air was coming upon us quickly. We ran around the city and found another metro stop and jumped back on our train. We only had to catch one on the way home and it was packed!! Mom was so cute, everyone was offering her their seat, because it looked like she was going to tumble over. (they go and stop pretty fast) haha, sorry mom. And she finally took one joyfully.
Eventually I ended up in the seat next to her and we enjoyed the rest of our ride home.
Upon arriving home, we found the boys had finished tiling the master shower. Wow what a job! It looks great. And they were tuckered out! Soooo we ordered like a million dollars of Chinese take-out and stayed in to watch a movie. Me, Mom, Robbie, and Jerad. :) Chinese Buffet on our coffee table and a movie (Big Fish for those interested). A great night in!

After the movie we all crashed, and the next day mom was leaving. Again the boys got up rearing to work. So off to work they went, and mom and I decided to visit Ikea. She had never been, and I needed to price out some closet organizers for the master closet situation. Mom and I ate breakfast at Ikea and it was pretty good and only like 99 cents. funny. I think it took us about 1.5-2 hours to make it through the whole store without stopping too much. We picked up a few odds and ends and headed back to the house to grab her stuff and hit the airport. Robbie stopped working and drove us ladies to the airport. Mom had to take home one of my suitcases full of things of hers that got packed by accident. haha. So she had a big suitcase now and a tiny one. She was so cute going up to the airport with all those suitcases and her 2 carry on bags. I was a little worried I have to say. But of course a few minutes later I got her text saying she had made it through security and had no problems! :) Duh... I knew she would be fine.

Upon arriving home, the grout party started! The boys worked upstairs grouting the master shower and I put on my work boots (really just tennis shoes) and helped out. I got a mini-grout highlights session from Robbie and off I went grouting the little half bath downstairs. Both bathrooms are now grouted! :) And both look purdy good, if I do say so myself. haha
I have pictures, but can't find my cable, so I will add more pictures from my camera when I find it. But I have uploaded pics from my iPhone...

After the grout situation, we also decided to lay the rocks in the master shower floor, and they look great. That was a fun project for all. :) Picking out stones to fill in holes and such.

Anyways, that's all for now! I am going to go eat dinner.

Thursday... The week is almost over... thanks goodness

Today is my mom's birthday! Happy Birthday Mom!!! Tomorrow she comes to visit, and I'm very excited! :) Got to clean the house tomorrow...
Let's see, been a good week. All 3 of us have been busy working all week. Last night we treated ourselves to Mexican food. It was really good. (can't go wrong with everything wrapped in cheese) Anyways let's see:
Robbie has been very busy with work this week. He had a tour of a facility in Pennsylvania on Tuesday with all of his instructors, so that made for a long day. But he enjoyed it.
And every afternoon he has had PT, which means he has been working out like a lot. And so he comes home very tired and sore. But in good spirits. :)
Jerad has been working a lot this week; doing his carpentry/handyman thing between several regular clients. He also is a big help around the house on his days off. Cleaning and vacuuming, etc. It's very nice to have housemates that are clean and help out to keep things maintained between the 3 animals. haha
And I have been working all week. Looking forward to next friday! :) I keep telling myself, "It's ok, only one more week of this." haha So here I am blogging on the clock! :) Got to keep my sanity somehow right?

I wanted to mention that 2 of YOU(readers) emailed me this week and told me that I should write children's books. I thought I would share that with you, because it was crazy that I got 2 of the same suggestion. :) Who knows, maybe I WILL right some childrens books. Haha. Now that I will have the time. Of course I know nothing about childrens book, or writing for that matter. :) But it might be a fun hobby to try out.

OK well, I better get back to my day job... for the time being. :)
Love you all! See you tomorrow mom!

Monday, Monday

Happy Monday Morning to all!
OK so here's the latest. Friday I put in my 2 weeks notice. Yep that's right. I'm crazy. So today is the first day of the rest of my 2 weeks. Ha. And instead of working, I feel like Blogging. So here it is. We did a lot of work this weekend. On Friday, we did not work. We went out, hence the previous blog pics. :) It was great fun. I love dancing with Robbie. He's a good 2 stepper. And not afraid to dance with me all by ourselves. :) haha.
Saturday was a busy day. We (meaning 90% the boys) tore out the half bath downstairs. And then tiled it. While the boys were doing this though, I did go through a ton of boxes, threw out the trash, organized my yard sale pile and repacked non-essentials. Still have a few ton of boxes to go. But I put a huge dent in it! So when the boys were done tiling, we were 1.3 tiles short. Ha! So yesterday we jumped in the truck (in the crazy rain, and 30 degree weather) and went to Lowes. We picked up the tiles, and also got Big 16" tiles for the Master Bathroom Shower wall. We actually just picked up some samples for this. Then we hit up the Green Turtle sports bar which has awesome cheeseburgers, in which all 3 of us indulged. YUM!
And then onto the house where we realized that I had grabbed the wrong 2 tiles for the half bath. SOOOO I jumped in the truck ran back to Lowes while the boys worked in the master bath and exchanged the tiles. I also picked up 104 giant tiles for the master as we all liked the sample we brought back. And let me tell you, ME getting 104 giant heavy tiles is really funny. I mean I had to get help and all, but when we were done loading up the cart with 17 boxes of tile, I went to push it to the front, and it didn't even budge. haha So the Lowes dude had to push my cart to the front and out to the car. haha
And the boys worked a lot last night in the bathroom. They raised the ceiling up and nailed it into place. (Jerad was in the attic, there was a jack and 2x4 in the bathroom, and lots of loud noises; thats all i know) haha. BUT the boys do have an nail gun which I plan to find an excuse to use for something if not just target practice! I have always wanted to use one of those things!! sweet! Ok I know I'm weird, but that's ok. Moving on. The boys were getting so much done and I felt that I needed to do some work to, so I cleaned the whole house and dusted everywhere. And when that was done I decided to bake some apple bread. Ha. And when that was done, we ordered pizza and ate the apple bread. :) We also got to video chat last night with the Mama and Papa Carlisle's for about 15 minutes or so until my computer died. Dangit!
We are going to reconnect with them though tonight possibly!

Ok well today the boys are upstairs installing tile in the master shower, and I imagine they will be grouting this half bath today as well. I have some LOOOOONG boring conference meetings over the computer with work at 1:00-4:00-ish. And then maybe I can quit early and go for a run because it's a gorgeous day! :)

Ok well thats all for now. Love ya'll!

Night out with the boyz

Enjoy some pics of our night out last night. We had a lot of fun bouncing around town, listening to some live music and dancing around. Today Robbie and I will demolish the downstairs half bath and tile!! (after I clean up the explosion that is my unpacked boxes everywhere; the boyz haven't seen it yet... hahahaha) Love yall!

Addition to earlier post

The decision about my job does not come lightly. I think that the working from home mainly is not what I am suited for. I like to be out and about and with other people. :) Hence why I have decided to look elsewhere for now. And I think that taking a break from Design will be good as it is very emotionally and personally taxing, and I think it will be refreshing to do something else for a while and clear my head. So keep praying and know that if I have the need or desire I can always find another design job here. Live and in person! :)

The Hunt Begins Soon

Happy Friday!
I know its been all week with no blog posts, but really there hasn't been much to talk about. At the beginning of the week I worked A LOT. Too much actually. I had a magazine being sent to print on Wednesday which means hurry scurry to the finish line for everyone. But it all went out with minimal tears and maximum hours. Haha.

Anyways, I think that the biggest thing that has come about this week is my realization that I may be unhappy with my career. I know that's a big deal huh! Holy crap. Sooo what does that mean for me? I will be putting in my 2 weeks (again) and upon that ending I will be looking for something a little different. I have already been searching for a few fun part time looking jobs here. One is doing office and front desk work at a Bed & Breakfast. How cool would that be?!
We'll see. I am taking it all in and looking at it as a new adventure. Finding my passion I guess. I would really love to do volunteer work or something working with people. Maybe I should have been a social worker, or like I told Robbie last night, I used to say I wanted to be a missionary when I was younger. :) (I also said I wanted to be a racecar driver and both of those sound better than what I am doing now. haha)

Anyways, this has been coming on for probably a year or so now. Just took the opportunity to be able to explore my options to actually get me to. I am very excited at what the future holds.
I am also sooo blessed to have a partner who supports me 1000%. And listens and understands. And wants first and foremost for me to be happy in what I am doing. I couldn't do this without him. Robbie is awesome, and I am so so peacefully but excitedly glad that God has brought us together to share life! The match is perfect and I can tell our lives will be filled with excitement, love, passion and joy to be sharing it with each other.

So with all that said, the hunt begins for my future part time job/s. Which will also free up time for me to work on the house as well and I will always have smaller freelance jobs to work on.

Please continue to pray for us both. God has given us both a fresh start and we are taking it. But prayer is always needed in helping direct our paths and knowing which way is best. I am leaning a lot on prayer as a lot of this seems crazy to me! :) haha But I am learning what it is to live life not according to my plan. And so far it's wonderful.

UPDATES ON THE BOYS

I seem to write a lot about whats going on with me, so I am going to try and keep a section dedicated to the boys as well. :)

I'll start with Jerad. He works A LOT. But he seems to be enjoying what he does. I can only imagine that he is awesome at it, because I can see the passion he has for life and for what he does. (as he talks about projects around the house) Jerad is also learning to play the guitar and pretty shortly he will surpass me and Robbie I think. haha
It is great listening to the 2 of them practicing and learning. We all were learning the other night an Adele song with Jerad strumming the chords, Robbie picking the detailed notes and me on vocals. We're going to go on tour soon I am sure of it! Jerad is a good father to none other than Brody. That doggy loves him so much, he won't even rough house with Jerad I think because he loves him so much. It's adorable. He also crawls up in bed with him in the morning. Haha. Sorry to call you out on that Jerad. But it's true. I'll have to post a pic one day!

And onto Robbie. He works A LOT too! :) I love waking up in the morning to Robbie getting ready for work. He wears the same uniform everyday and it is very detailed and has a lot of Velcro and zippers so it makes a lot of noise as he puts it all together. And I always wake up to the sound of this. And its adorable again. I know. Robbie started PT this week which means he started back his Physical Fitness Regimen at the end of his day with several others. Which btw he has a completely different uniform that he has to wear for that, and on Sunday we all 3 tore the house up looking for it to no avail. So long story short, he ordered 2 new ones. Ha. But anyways, Robbie has been very sore and super tired in the evenings from working out. I love to listen to his stories of his day though. Robbie teaches a lot lately and he is so funny. I am going to have to go sit in one of his classes and try not to crack up. Apparently he is a goofball and breaks the ice with a lot of goofiness. I can only imagine what an awesome teacher he is. He is so confident, smart and joyful, how could you not want him as a teacher. I am very proud of him as my partner in crime, but also just as my friend. What accomplishments he has done in his own life and in the lives of so many. I am truly blessed to be able to share in his life. And Robbie is an awesome dad to all the animals as well. He loves his cat Rema very much and plays with her so cutely. Both the boys have adopted Gray Baby as their own and he loves them both very much. He licks all over their heads and its so funny. They secretly love it, I know.

Anyways, we are all so glad its friday. Another week down! We have some house work to do this weekend and thats all I know for now. Have an awesome Friday everyone!
Love ya!

Relaxing Weekend

Hello all!
Hope all is well in FL and some warmth finds you soon. Let's see, thinking of all that we have done since the last post. Friday night was the neighbors birthday and we got the invite to the party. Robbie, Jerad and myself all climbed into their big truck with 2 other couples and headed off to a large gathering at a nice Sushi Restaurant. It was a lot of fun, the boys ordered all these different rolls and they brought out this huge plate and set it down in front of me because we were all sharing. It was funny. The food was good. The company was good. Met some new nice folks. Yesterday we got up and decided to go out and about. We first went to this restaraunt called the Green Turtle where they have amazing Burgers. We each got one and could only finish half they were so huge. Robbie's had ham and cheese on top of his burger. It was pretty much like a ham sandwich inside a burger. haha. And mine was called Californian Dude, and had avocado, bacon, and some other good stuff on it. It was great. Way too much though

After lunch we stopped in at Lowes and decided to pick out all the new pieces for the Half bath in the basement. (If you don't know, Robbie has been renovating his home for a while now and it is coming along very nicely. He is also color blind and thats where the fun comes in for me cause I get to pick everything out! haha. I loved it!) So we got a new sink cabinet thats black and modern and fancy, and this cool stylish black framed mirror thats kind of a star and octagon mixed together, some nice tile. It is tan I guess with some gold warm hues in it. And a very light tan (almost off white but slightly darker) paint for the walls where I am going to attempt to do a linen texture on the wall. The sink counter is bright white and so is the toilet. I think that it is going to come together very nicely.

After lowes we stopped in at Starbucks for some Lattes, and then Target, yes like my favorite store on the planet. I know... And I got a whole bunch of new clothes and some toiletries etc. I now have long sleeve shirts. ha

I also found out (unless he is pulling my leg) that Robbie has never been to Chik-Fil-A. This is quite appalling to me as it is probably my favorite restaurant on the planet. Well in the speed of drive thrus anyhow. I still don't know if I believe him... and it's Sunday so we can't go today.... but we will be spending some quality time at the Chik-Fil-A this week!

AFter we got home and unloaded all our goods, we hung out until Jerad returned from getting wings and watched Julie & Julia. We didn't finish it yet because we were all falling asleep. But the boys DID like the movie! I knew they would. :)

Alright well thats all I have for now. I think the boys are going to work on the half bath today and I actually have to do some real work for my day job. (boo)
Staying warm here! Love you all!

Work Has Commenced!

So I started working again yesterday. It was nice to roll out of bed, start some coffee, eat cereal and crawl downstairs to my basement office. haha. So far it's awesome. I love it! Haven't had too many problems technologically. I am already busy busy again, which is good.

Last night Robbie and I went to Maggiano's (one of my fave restaurants) for a retirement dinner for one of his Colonel's. We picked up one of his coworkers (the other instructor that works with him) to join us. There were about 15-20 people there and the dinner was very nice. Of course the food was wonderful, but the celebration of this woman's nursing career was also special. I very much enjoyed hearing about all of her accomplishments and I couldn't help but find myself thinking of all the nurses I have met over the past few years who cared for my dad. I am very appreciative to them all.

After the dinner, the 3 of us stopped by this little restaurant to hang out before heading home. Outside the snow began! :) By the time we got home the flurries had definitely come pouring down.

Kitchen Done! Laundry on hold....

The Kitchen is up and running!! That is probably the biggest news of all. It took a whole day and like 15 boxes later, but all the cabinets are full and i'm only missing like 1 kitchen box. I made chicken and yellow rice last night to commence the unpacking. It was good, and I actually had leftovers! Haha :)

So I am trying to wash like 14 loads of laundry. (yeh I'm kind of backed up) and it appears that maybe the boys have been using concentrated color safe bleach as detergent instead of adding it to detergent... hmmm... laundry is on hold now..

All the uhauls have officially been returned, and with only 2 trips out I think I could find my way to a McDonalds if I had to! Sweet.
Also learning that when things are 20 degrees they crack A LOT EASIER!! I broke my sunglasses just by dropping them, and I put a tiny dent in my car door just by bumping into someone's mirror... NOT COOL. I am going to have to be more careful here in this cold climate!

Alright so I don't have any new pics today. I am trying to get the clothes situation under control and also my office setup. I officially begin work tomorrow! I think I am going to love this whole working from home thing. I can fold clothes in between proofing...

And I am setting up my pink coffee pot, the spare microwave, and eventually a mini fridge in my little office area so I never have to leave! haha.
I am very excited about the space I have here. Room for everything!

Alright well that's all the news I have for now. All the animals are doing fine. They love each other. Grey baby (the boys have renamed him, but I will let them explain) is still weary of the dog and runs away from him, but overall he's cool with the situation!

Love you!

Unpacking!

Ok, so the move went seamlessly. :) Several bruises later and I am unpacking the kitchen! Jerad has been such a huge help unloading the trucks and unpacking and moving super heavy boxes. haha... So far everything is going well. It is really cold outside...brr... I am inside today though with shorts on. ha haven't unpacked most of my clothes yet, that may be my next step...
Robbie had to go back to work yesterday but has been a huge help in the evening moving stuff around. They are planning on moving the piano into the garage tonight and the wardrobe into the basement. Should be a fun one! I have taken a whole bunch of photos of the house so you can see where we live! Enjoy!!
Love and miss you all.
